Welcome to my garden!
Welcome to the first post of Petal Seekers Garden Journal. Here, I share all things garden and flower related, hopefully adding some inspiration and encouragement along the way.
In case we haven't met yet, my name is Angie. I'm a registered nurse on sabbatical, immersing myself in one of my long lost loves-flowers. Well, that's not entirely the truth.
Flowers for me aren't exactly a long lost love. I've gardened in one way, shape, or form since I was 16. After I graduated with a bachelors degree in nursing at the age of 22, I wanted to go back to college and get a degree in horticulture and have my on business. I finished up 6 hours toward that degree while working full time as a nurse, and my husband and I decided we wanted to start a family. After a short hospitalization while pregnant with our daughter, I decided to put off that horticulture degree/business plan for another time.
Fast forward to age 47-I'm in my second year as a flower farmer. What was I thinking-I'm too old for this. Well, some days my body tells me I should have started back on this path a little earlier but my mind tells me my timing is perfect. When the flowers start to bloom and I can see harvesting on my horizon it fills my heart with so much joy I just can't stand it. Well it's mostly because I know I will get to share these beauties with so many other people and will bring joy to their day as well.
I'm glad to share this flower farming/gardening journey with you-my gardening triumphs and defeats-hopefully sharing a learning lesson on the way along with all other things gardening. Add a comment or subscribe to my blog below. Maybe you want to share one of your triumphs or defeats - I'd love to hear about them. Thanks for following along and look forward to seeing you again soon.
